Philip Hayden

Phil Hayden is a marvellously gauche cross between Daniel Day Lewis and Rupert Everett    - London Time Out

Philip moved to Australia in 2008. Philip is a career actor who has performed on the West End, in national tours, in feature films and in prominent television shows both in the UK and Australia. Philip’s most recent stage appearance was Sunshine, which marked his third full production with Red Stitch Actors Theatre (with whom he has also performed short works).

Outside of acting, Philip has founded and is co-director of the Howard Fine Acting Studio and the Poppy Seed Theatre Festival. The Poppy Seed Theatre Festival programs a five week theatrical festival each year in Melbourne. The festival showcases outstanding works by established and emerging independent artists and provides each production with a venue, a publicist, a budget and structured mentorship. As co-director, Philip is hands-on in the publicity and marketing of these productions, and provides arm's length production support to all contributing artists.

As co-founder of the Howard Fine Acting Studio Philip has had the opportunity to organise many Melbourne-based and interstate workshops and events. These events have been housed in theatres, opera houses and rehearsal venues. Philip is adept at coordinating live events and managing the various competing priorities. Philip wishes to use Key Conspirators as an opportunity to develop his skills as a director. He is excited to expand on his two decades of experience as an actor, producer and arts professional.
